Sick new riff I made. Tabs included

Pretty cool riff I just thought of. Heavy distortion is needed. Standard Tuning, Treble all the way up.

Try it out. I'm going to add on to it with some melodies and maybe a few harmonies lines later with some really heavy stuff.

I might have to try it. Even though I suck at guitar and don't have distortion. Oh, and my guitar is badly tuned.

Look up an online tuner. That's what I used to do until I remembered the pitch. Once you do that for the E string you don't need to go online anymore. This riff is pretty easy but has a nice ring to it.


Heavy distortion is reccommended but if you play it without you'll get the gist of it.

Oh boc, it looks complex on those tabs. It really isnt' Your fingers are like:

|_| and then it just goes really nicely together with the HO/POs, just Pull off the 5 and then move a string down and move back up...Pull off, move down a strong with your pointer finger, and pull off then hammer back on to what you had, and move upa sting with you other finger and hammer on with your pointer. Real simple. Should be played witha prog-ish style too it but I make revamp it for a more Metal Church feel. That's what this song is going to go for. A slower version of Metal Church. I may cover Badlands too if I get the time.

Also, I think for the next segment, I'll have that riff again, but before it starts I'll have a Yngwie style slide in as seen in Red Devil. Easy just sliding your hand down either E or the A string with heavy distortion from a high point, but getting his sound is gonna be trickier than hell. After that riff it might go into a 2 guitar melody similar to Iron Maiden's style of doing it, one guitar in one key and another in a lower key tone. I'll probably alternate between the D and the B stroing to get that type of sound. After I might go into a heavy, slow sound witha lower BPM like when Metallica does in Ride the Lightning just before the solo. Then I'll jump into a crazy-ass solo I like to play lot. Just a lot of steccato picking and some random trill phrases here and there. Usually I'll incorperate 1 or 2 different phrases of crazy tapping and then steccato pick some more and then slow down. Then jump into an Overkill style thrash metal/speed metal riff and then go back to the general prg style riff tabbed above. I want to kind of cross different genres in one song and see how it turns out. Any suggestions or thoughts?
